Hey guys! Today I went outside and recorded five clips showcasing different camera shots and angles. Below I have listed my best camera shots and I will discuss my thought process about each shot.
Wide Shot
In this wide shot, the camera captures a broad view of the entire scene, which includes a grassy area, several trees, various objects, and some people scattered throughout the scene. The purpose of this wide shot is to show the viewers the entire scene, giving a sense of the overall environment. I created this shot by putting my camera on a .5 lens and panning the camera from left to right.
Medium Shot
In this medium shot, the camera captures the bush. The main focus in this shot is to capture the subject from an eye level that allows viewers to see the purple flowers and part of the surrounding environment. I created this shot by positioning my camera at a distance and selecting lens 1, slowly panning the camera.
High-Angle Shot
In this high-angle shot, the camera is positioned above the scene looking down at the trees and plants. The purpose of this shot was to make the plants appear small or less significant, emphasizing the layout within the scene. I created this scene by positioning myself on an elevated place and pointing the camera down, slowly panning it from left to right.
Low-Angle Shot
In this low-angle shot, the camera is shown looking up toward the tree, capturing the branches and leaves from below. The purpose of this shot was to emphasize how huge the tree is and allow the viewers to see underneath the branches. I created this shot by putting the camera lens at 1 and positioning my camera on ground level, slowly pointing my camera up towards the tree.
Ground-Level Shot/Close-Up Shot
In this ground-level shot/close-up shot, the camera is shown to be very close to the ground, capturing the details of the grass and the stone. This shot is also a close-up shot because it captures the grass at a close range, making it appear larger. The purpose of this shot was to shift the perspective of the viewer by immersing them in the environment and allowing them to see a unique viewpoint. To create this shot, I had to position the camera at ground level and slowly pan my camera to the right.
Hi Zaiden! Your filming of the wide shot truly allowed me to embrace the complete scene of your surroundings, showcasing where the shot takes place. In addition, your filming of the high-angle shot established a vulnerable setting of the trees and plants, incorporating an elevated view of the scene.
