Hey guys! Recently, I have been learning about different types of transitions. Today, I edited three different videos, incorporating a transition in each.
Fade
In this video, I used a wide shot and a high-angle shot. The choice of these shots helped in establishing a contextual background and added depth to the scenes. I used a fade transition here because it was more impactful as it seamlessly connected two visually dynamic scenes. I created this video by using a software called Microsoft Clipchamp where I put the two clips together and added a fade transition between the two scenes.
Wipe
In this video, I used a ground-level shot and a low-angle shot. The ground-level shot offers a unique perspective that immerses the viewer in the soil, potentially creating a sense of being small in a vast natural world. Following this, I used a low-angle shot to emphasize the size of the tree, making it appear more imposing and majestic against the sky. To seamlessly connect these shots, I created a transition by going on Microsoft Clipchamp and adding a wipe-down transition between the two clips.
Dissolve
In this video, I used a medium shot and a close-up shot. I started by taking a medium shot of the whole bush with the flowers, making sure to get a good view of all the blooms. Then, I moved in really close to capture just one flower petal. I then went on Microsoft Clipchamp and added a dissolve transition between the two clips, which gradually fades out the medium shot of the entire bush while simultaneously fading in the close-up of the flower petal.
