Costuming

Hey everyone! Today, I want to discuss the costumes for my short film. Since the story happens late at night, the outfits need to feel real and relatable.

For the main character, I'm going with an oversized dark gray hoodie. This is perfect because it makes the character look smaller and more vulnerable, which is exactly what I want for a horror film. The hoodie also works great for hiding in shadows. For the pants, the main character will be wearing simple black sweatpants. Lastly, to add a nice touch of realism, the main character will wear mismatched socks to add to the messy, stayed-up vibe.

The hair is going to be messy, really messy. Think about how your hair looks when you have been staying up all night studying or binge-watching shows. This messy look tells the viewer that the main character has been up for hours and hours. I want that hasn't-showered-in-a-while look.

For the accessories, I'm keeping it simple. The main character will have regular glasses that will reflect the phone and laptop screens in an eerie way. This works perfectly because the reflection of the screens in glasses can serve as a really cool visual effect. Also, most people wear glasses when staring at screens late at night, so it feels real.
