Hey everyone! In my previous blog, I shared the final concept for my film opening. Today, I took a creative step forward by crafting a mood board to visually convey the mood and atmosphere of my film. This board is filled with images and colors that capture the essence of the story.
Aesthetics:
This mood board captures the eerie feeling of being the only person awake in a world that's suddenly gone quiet. The overall dark and moody images create a sense of isolation. I've chosen lots of gray and dark shadows because they help show how the normal world can feel different and scary at night. The contrast between light and dark in many images represents how our main character is caught between the normal world and whatever strange thing is happening.
Main Character:
The image of someone checking their phone in bed represents the main character, a regular person who stays up too late. They're not a hero or villain, just someone who discovers something weird is happening. The snacks and notes nearby hints that they're a night owl, used to late nights
Setting:
The story will manly happen in the bedroom/living area, shown through the cozy lamp and laptop scenes. The empty street with a single lamppost shows how the outside worlds has gone quiet. Lastly, the long hallway represents the world outside becoming strange.
Lighting:
There are several different lighting styles:
- Laptop screen light
- Soft lamp glow
- Dark shadows with minimal light
- Blue screen glow
Props:
- Laptop
- Phone
- Snacks
- Notebook
- Lamp
The hooded figures in dark represent the mystery of what's happening. This helps create tension without showing too much. The mix of cozy indoor scenes and dark, empty outdoor shots helps show how quickly things change from normal to scary.
