Basic Filmaking Equipment

Hey everyone! Let me tell you about the basic stuff you need to make a film. For my film, I used my iPhone 15 Pro as my main camera, but any newer phone can work well. The most important thing I learned is that you need something to keep your camera steady. I used a gimbal stabilizer, which is like a handle that keeps your phone super still even when you move around. One thing that many people forget is good sound. Your phone's microphone is not the best for filming because it picks up all sorts of noise you don't want. I got a shotgun microphone, which is kind of like a long microphone that records anything on what you're pointing it at while ignoring the other sounds. Get a shotgun microphone that comes with a fuzzy cover because it can help blog wind noise and other things that you don't want. Having good sounds can make a huge difference in making any film feel more professional.

Furthermore, another important thing is having enough storage space on your phone or camera. Videos can take up a lot of space, and you don't want to deal with your storage running out. Lighting is really important, too, as it could make the scene look better visually. You could use some LED lights to give it a unique atmosphere. I also recommend having a portable charger to charge your camera or phone because recording videos could drain your battery drastically as it uses more power. Remember, you don't need to buy fancy equipment to make a film. I got started with just the basics, and you can too!
