Hey everyone! Today, I'm sharing what happened during my second day of filming. I focused on all the outdoor scenes and the final moments of the film which was both exciting and challenging.
The biggest challenge was filming the street scenes at night. I had to wait until it got dark outside and when there were no cars or people around to get that perfect empty feeling. Every time I would set up a shot, a car would drive by, someone would walk their dog, or I would mess up my lines. The hooded figure scenes were also tricky; I needed to make sure there was enough light for the viewers to see the dark, mysterious figure and positioned correctly where there were no obstructions. My brother played the hooded figure, and we spent a lot of time getting his outfit right so that his outfit looked creepy enough.Inside the house, filming got easier. I shot the final scenes where the character sees the last message on his phone, and everything goes dark. These shots were simpler because we did not have to worry about outside interruptions anymore. The trickiest part was getting the phone screen bright enough in the dark room so that when it was time to edit, I could easily track the movements of the phone. Getting all the point-of-view shots right took several tries. I wanted the camera movements to feel natural, like someone actually looking out their window and scanning the street. Sometimes the camera would move too fast or too slow, and I would have to do it again. Even though it was frustrating at times, I was able to capture all the footage I wanted for my film.
