Would I Make Another Horror Film?

Hey everyone! After finishing Lost Signal, I have been thinking about what kind of short film opener I would make next. I would definitely go for a heist-type of theme. I feel like there's something exciting about planning a big robbery, the tension of almost getting caught, and the uncertainties that come with it. Heist stories are full of clever surprises and characters with interesting skills which would be a lot of fun to film. For the opener, it would start with a quiet, late-night scene inside a secret warehouse. The camera could show close-ups of tools, blueprints, and the team members. I would use dim lights to make the scene a little bit more intense. A quick flashback could show the plan being made, followed by the main character slipping on gloves and giving the signal to start. Adding the sound of a ticking clock or alarms in the distance would build suspense.

Unlike horror, where you try to scare people, a heist film is all about building up the tension, keeping viewers on the edge of their seats wondering what will happen next. I think filming a heist would be a cool challenge because I will have to plan the storyline properly, have engaging characters, and build suspense throughout the scenes. If I had more resources, I’d try to film in places that look high-security and use gadgets and hacking scenes to make it feel real. Overall, I think producing a heist film would allow me to discover new skills and try different filming styles .What do you guys think? Would a heist-themed short film opener be cool to see? Let me know!
